Ingredients

  • 1 ounce of rum
  • 1 ounce of red wine sangria
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 10 mint leaves
  • 2- inch strip orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • pinch ground cloves
  • Ice
  • Lime flavored sparkling water club soda, Sprite or 7-UP
  • Fresh mint to garnish
  • Lime wedge to garnish

Instructions

  • In a large glass, muddle together the rum, sangria, lime juice, mint, orange strip, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • Fill glass with ice, strain in the rum mixture, top off slowly with the club soda.
  • Garnish with a wedge of lime and fresh mint.

Notes

The best way to create an ombre effect is by pouring the club soda to where it doesn't directly hit the rum mixture. You can either slowly pour it into where it hits the ice or by pouring it over the back of a spoon.
For the sangria, any traditional red sangria that you love will work well.
