So one of my favorite things about this time of year is the long lazy summer days and one of my favorite cocktails, the Scarlet O’Hara cocktail punch!
In honor of a long hot summer to come, I’m planning on sipping on a bit of this Scarlet O’Hara cocktail punch and having a beer tasting night with my crazy friends.
Speaking as a full on Georgia girl, I can tell you that we love things with grits, such as my favorite shrimp and grits recipe or these addictive fried cheese grits. We like to make loads of peach ice cream, while we turn up the music, all the while having debates on the proper pronunciation of pecans.
Want to create your own southern style get together and celebrate the heat of summer? Then start by creating tasty BBQ’s, add in a bit of country music, then invite your friends and family over, and treat them to a time of beer tasting from some of your local breweries and indulge them with a nice Scarlet O’Hara Cocktail punch.
How to make a Scarlet O’Hara Cocktail Punch is straight forward and dead simple. All you need is a lovely, large pitcher, some lime sparkling mineral water, and a bit of comfort, plus a couple more ingredients to mix it all up.
To pull it all together, I went to my local Cost Plus World Market, at Town Center in Kennesaw, where I found all of the things I need to throw this little soiree, from snacks to bar accessories and a case of locally sourced brews. To finish it off, I found my new favorite candles that have a lovely apricot and lily scent, a simple utility bucket turned ice bucket, a beautiful assortment of glassware for serving up the drinks, and to wipe up the inevitable spills … a gorgeous kitchen towel.
For the beer tasting, select a variety of local brews, all of which Cost Plus World Market has this great 9 pack case of locally sourced beers that you really need to try. I also added in some of these Not Your Mom’s Iced Tea and Apple Pie brews that are pretty tasty, dagnabit. Just remember not to forget the bottle opener, or you may have some not so happy guests … with broken teeth.
To find all you need, head to your local Cost Plus World Market and your party will be set!
Think southern hospitality, turn on some country music, then sit back and enjoy a great evening with friends!
Y’all Enjoy!
