Blueberry Buck Cocktail Recipe
Blueberry Buck, my favorite cocktail recipe hands down!
So many things in about this cocktail recipe, the blueberry buck that I enjoy! It’s so light and refreshing and has the perfect blend of flavors.
This is one of those recipes with blueberry vodka that isn’t overly fruity or sweet but is balanced with lime and is sweetened to your liking with a basic simple syrup.
I had this version of a blueberry buck at Marlow’s Tavern and enjoyed it so much that I had to figure it out to make so I could share it with friends and family.
What’s the difference between a Moscow Mule and a Buck?
It’s all in the name. A Moscow Mule and a Buck are basically the same, although there are plenty of theories as to the origin, at the end of the day they are both interchangeable.
Cocktail drinks which are made with any spirit, citrus, and ginger beer or ginger ale used to be known as a Buck. Now, this drink is better known as a Moscow Mule.

For this vodka recipe, I recommend Smirnoffs Blueberry Vodka, it’s a lovely smooth vodka and has a gorgeous blueberry flavor and aroma. For the ginger beer, I’ve used Fever Tree’s Ginger Beer, my personal favorite! If you are unable to find these brands, you may need to adjust the amounts given in this recipe, as this recipe is based on using those particular brands.

Blueberry Buck Cocktail
A simple to make, light and refreshing cocktail recipe, Blueberry Buck!
Ingredients
- 2 ounces blueberry vodka
- 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup
- 2 ounces ginger beer
- 1 lime wedge
- 4 blueberries, to garnish
- Nutmeg, freshly grated
Instructions
- In a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and add the blueberry vodka, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Give it a good shake. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
- Top up drink with ginger beer, and squeeze the lime wedge into drink. Garnish with the blueberries and freshly grated nutmeg, serve immediately.
Notes
Make blueberry ice cubes. You can freeze blueberries in an ice cube tray, by simply adding a single blueberry in each cube and topping with water then freezing overnight.
