So one of my favorite things about this time of year is the CMA Fest that is making it’s way to our screens for a nice bit of country music viewing pleasure!
In honor of such a fun-filled event, I’m planning on sipping a bit of this Scarlet O’Hara cocktail punch and having a beer tasting night with a few of my crazy friends.
As a full on Georgia girl, country music is so much a part of life here in the south.
Lately I’ve been crushing on Brett Eldridge and Sam Hunt, goodness me! Seriously, listening to them and enjoying an ice cold brew or Scarlet O’Hara Cocktail will make you feel finer than a frog’s hair split four ways!
This summer, Cost Plus World Market attended the 2017 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, June 8-11th. They held meet-and-greets with seven world-famous country superstars, including Scotty McCreery, Easton Corbin, Maddie & Tae, Thompson Square, RaeLynn, Eric Paslay and Tyler Rich.
What you may not realize is that the CMA Music Festival directly benefits music education programs across the country, as every artist at the Festival donates their time, performing for free. The result of that generosity is that Festival proceeds support school programs touching the lives of 1 million students nationwide through the work of the CMA Foundation. Love this!
You can read all about it on the Cost Plus World Market Discover Blog.
So if you want to hear the likes of Brett and Sam, Dustin Lynch, plus other crazy good bands such as Rascal Flatts and Old Dominion, then you need to watch the “CMA Fest” on ABC for a three hour special on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 8 PM ET (7 PM Central), hosted by Thomas Rhett & Kelsea Ballerini. To see the CMA Fest lineup and find out more, visit CMAfest.com.
So go on and make an evening of it, invite your friends and family and treat them to a time of beer tasting from some of your local breweries and indulge them with a nice Scarlet O’Hara Cocktail punch.
How to make a Scarlet O’Hara Cocktail Punch is straight forward and dead simple. All you need is a lovely, large pitcher, some lime sparkling mineral water, and a bit of comfort, plus a couple more ingredients to mix it all up.
To pull it all together, I went to my local Cost Plus World Market, at Town Center in Kennesaw, where I found all of the things I need to throw this little soiree, from snacks to bar accessories and a case of locally sourced brews. To finish it off, I found my new favorite candles that have a lovely apricot and lily scent, a simple utility bucket turned ice bucket, a beautiful assortment of glassware for serving up the drinks, and to wipe up the inevitable spills … a gorgeous kitchen towel.
For the beer tasting, select a variety of local brews, all of which Cost Plus World Market has this great 9 pack case of locally sourced beers that you really need to try. I also added in some of these Not Your Mom’s Iced Tea and Apple Pie brews that are pretty tasty, dagnabit. Just remember not to forget the bottle opener, or you may have some not so happy guests … with broken teeth.
To find all you need, head to your local Cost Plus World Market and your evening will be set!
Think southern hospitality, turn on the CMA Fest, sit back and enjoy the best in country music and have a great evening with friends!
