The Best Flippin’ Burger
As with all BBQ masters, you will find that they all have their own version of the best burger ever!
I’m not a BBQ master, but have many friends that are pretty talented when it comes to The. Grill. Recently I was “enlightened” by this recipe from my friend, Shane P. He can now happily pat himself on the back, because I tried his recipe and have to agree that it is pretty darn good. So I’ve dubbed this one, the best Flippin’ Burger {get it…flippin’, flip, you know … ahhh ok}.
His version is not for wimps, as it contains more than a few drops of Louisiana hot sauce. Due to little tummies in my house though, I did have to tweak the recipe to suit our taste buds, apparently we fall into that wimpy category for hot sauce tolerance. Not to worry, below you will find both versions, his original and mine, the calmed down to an “above an arctic chill factor” version.
For myself and the kids, our routine has officially changed since this was the last week of school … for all three, all at one time, no more school *sigh*, but this too shall pass. 😉 All of that means, new routines, good times and I’m sure lot’s of crazy antics! It’s all about making memories big and small, everyday … oh, and lot’s of grilling!
My only slight spine-tingling version is below, but here’s Shane’s eye-popping recipe if you dare, and I quote –
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1/3 cup Crystal Louisiana Hot sauce
- 1/3 cup Dale’s Steak Seasoning
- 1 medium sized white Onion liquefied in a Ninja
- 1 Tbs minced (or chopped) garlic
- 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
Break up meat into mixing bowl 1/2 lb at a time, pouring a bit of all ingredients in, mix, and repeat until all meat and ingredients are in the bowl. Continue mixing by hand until thoroughly mixed. Form patties to the size you like to cook and cook top your desired doneness. Enjoy!”
With summer basically in our face, there is nothing more summery than enjoying the outdoors, flipflops and incredible food.
The Best Flippin' Burger
This spine-tingling hamburger is the perfect combination with summer, in fact it's the best Flippin' Burger! Happy Grilling.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground Beef
- 1/4 cup Dale's Steak Seasoning
- 2 Tbls Crystal's Louisiana Hot Sauce
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder (or 1 minced garlic clove)
- 1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs (I use plain flavored)
- 1/2 cup (1 small or half medium) Onion, finely diced or liquefied in juicer
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until well incorporated.
- Form into desired size beef patties.
- Chill, covered, in refrigerator at least 30 minutes before grilling (I like to place mine in the freezer for about 30 minutes).
- Prepare your grill and cook about 5 - 6 minutes on each side (for average size to fit bun, adjust if making mondo-sized or slider-sized burgers) or your desired doneness.
- Serve with your favorite toppings, i.e. heirloom or beefsteak tomatoes, lettuce, Havarti cheese (my favorite) ... more hot sauce.
- Build it your way and enjoy!
