These Rolo pretzel bites sandwich one milk-chocolate caramel between two butter pretzels. Bake them at 300°F for 3 to 5 minutes, just until the chocolate looks shiny and soft while still holding its shape, then press on the second pretzel and let the bites cool.

Why These Pretzel Bites Work

#Chocolate - @LittleFiggyFood - #YUM

Two ingredients are doing all the work here: square butter pretzels and milk-chocolate chewy caramels. The pretzels bring the salty crunch, and the caramel stays neatly tucked in the middle.

Kids can help arrange the first layer of pretzels and add the unwrapped candies. An adult should handle the oven, hot baking sheet, and softened chocolate.

Watch for the Shine

The clock helps, but the chocolate tells you when it is ready. Start checking at 3 minutes. Each caramel should look shiny and soft while still holding its shape.

Do not wait for the candy to sink or spread. Add the second pretzel and press gently, stopping when the chocolate barely reaches the edges.

Make Ahead and Storage

Let the bites cool completely before moving them into a container. Store them at room temperature for up to one week. Keep them out of the refrigerator and freezer, where the pretzels can soften.

Super easy, incredibly yummy and completely addictive, Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bites! Perfect for any party, as teachers gifts and great for the kids to help make them.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz bag Square Butter Pretzels my preference hands down is Snyder's of Hanover Butter Snaps
  • 1 lb 3.75 oz bag Family size bag or 2 smaller bags Chewy Caramels in Milk Chocolate (I use Rolo's,)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line your 1 extra large or 2 regular sized baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean up and start unwrapping the chocolate candies.
  2. Lay out Pretzels in one layer on lined baking sheet(s). Top each Pretzel with 1 Chewy Chocolate Caramels.
  3. Place in the preheated oven for 3 - 5 minutes, no more. Remove from oven when Chocolates are shiny, and still have their shape (you do not want them to start sinking or spreading).
  4. Carefully top each Chocolate with a second Pretzel and gently press until the Chocolate just barely spreads to the edge of the Pretzels.
  5. Leave to cool for about 20 - 30 minutes.
  6. Store in container for up to a week. Do not store in refrigerator or freezer, or the pretzels will soften.
  7. Share and Enjoy!

Notes

For best taste, TRY to wait to enjoy them the next day.
