Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies! Great anytime, to give as a gift from the kitchen or just because. Recipe @LittleFiggyFood

Fun and easy to make, completely addictive, Chocolate Crinkle Cookies!

My daughter came rushing into the kitchen, her favorite baking cookbook in hand, and informed me that we were making Chocolate Crinkle Cookies. Of course, I was needing a bit of chocolate in my life, and quickly replied with a “Yes, yes we are!”. Really, do you have to ask me if I want chocolate? No, no need to ask as I won’t hesitate with my answer. It’s an automatic reflex, like a kid standing in the middle of a candy store being asked if they want any. Umm, yeesss!

Not only did we enjoy a bit of mommy-daughter time, but we were able to celebrate with a tall glass of cold milk and freshly baked, brownie-like Chocolate Crinkle Cookies.

I have the feeling that she has more goodies in mind, because her American Girl Baking cookbook {affiliate link} has a massive amount of little pieces of torn paper peering out. As long as there’s some form of chocolate involved, I’m not going to complain!

Involving the kids in the kitchen can be stressful at times, YES, but it’s such a great way to get them excited about cooking. Just imagine that one day, they just might sit you down and say, “hey mom, I’m making dinner tonight, it’s your night off”. One can at least hope. 😉

They’re really easy to make! You can make the dough the day before (but really, why wait?), keeping it refrigerated until ready to bake. The fun and messy part of rolling them in powdered sugar can be quite exciting, because if you aren’t careful you will soon find yourself and your kitchen in the midst of a sugar cloud. Really, I advise avoiding that sugar cloud!

Make these cookies for friends and family and of course yourself! Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are perfect to give as gifts from the kitchen during the Holidays, and a great addition to that party table.

Enjoy!
